You may have thought that there is no more hope for US online poker since the recent changes in legislation and pullout of Neteller have occurred. However, the New York Times made it clear that the fight for our right to play online poker in the United States hasn’t even begun. Alfonse M. D’Amato, a former New York senator, has agreed to begin a lobbying effort with the Poker Player’s alliance, a grassroots organization to save the game of poker. Their intention is to create an article of exemption for the game of poker and making it allowable to play under United States federal law. Currently, poker is commonly seen as a gambling game, and no acknowledgement of the skills involved in playing has ever been officially made.
