The upcoming season of the popular show High Stakes Poker has been filmed and has seen fortunes won and lost on the felt. The show is scheduled to start airing on GSN sometime around early spring and right now we know who played, on what day, and their opponents. Several professional poker players were scheduled to show up and play, but did not; this included Phil Ivey and Phil Hellmuth. Phil Hellmuth stated, “2008 was a busy and stressful year for me, and all of the travel and stress had really worn me down. I was tired enough that I passed on playing in a episode of “High Stakes Poker” with two “Billionaires” on December 20th, despite the fact that I won over $250k last time I played in a similar one a month or two earlier.”
Below is a list of who was playing and on what days they started playing on.
Day 1: Phil Laak, Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, David Peat, Mike Baxter, Dario Minieri, Eli Elezra, Doyle Brunson and Alan Meltzer.
Day 2: Sam Simon, Daniel Negreanu, Joe Hachem, Patrik Antonius, Antonio Esfandiari, Howard Lederer, Phil Laak and Nick Cassavetes.
Not Pictured: Tom “Durrrr” Dwan
Day 3: Daniel Negreanu, Eli Elezra, David Benyamine, Peter Eastgate, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Tom “Durrrr” Dwan, Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein.
