Born October 23, 1950 in Fresno, California, Tom Franklin is a professional poker player with a nickname of “Captain.”  Tom Franklin began playing poker in 1970, and has won more than 50 major tournaments with prizes of $50,000 or more.

Tom Franklin first cashed in the 1990 World Series of Poker at the Main Event, when he finished 24th.  He claimed his one and only WSOP bracelet in 1999 when he won the $2500 Limit Omaha event.  The Captain now has 27 total money finished at the WSOP, including four consecutive final table appearances at the Main Event.  Tom Franklin has also made the money 5 times at the World Poker Tour.

Tom Franklin now lives in Gulfport Mississippi, and enjoys drumming, singing and golfing in addition to playing poker.
