Clonie Gowen is a female poker player who is at the top of her game. She was born in Oklahoma in 1971 and was given the name Clonie because she was born during a very large storm. Clonie is still quite the storm at the poker table today attracting cameras left and right. She is also one of the founders of an extremely popular online poker site, FullTilt Poker.
Clonie Gowen started playing poker when she was living in Dallas, Texas. She had to drive all the way to Schreveport, Louisiana in order to play poker, but it was worth it to her. Clonie’s first taste of fame came thanks to the World Poker Tour, where she had a top ten finish in the Costa Rica Classic and soon afterwards won the World Poker Tour Ladies Night event.
In 2005, Clonie finished seventh in the $2,000 No-Limit Hold ‘em Ultimate Poker Challenge and third in the FullTiltPoker.Net Championship at Wynn Las Vegas. In 2006, she finished third in the FullTiltPoker.Net Pro Showdown at Red Rock Casino in west Las Vegas. Clonie Gowen is now a familiar sight to most people at the poker table and is a feared competitor.
Clonie has been a commentator for several large poker tournaments, and she also enjoys to host her own tournaments and charity events. She is also a partner in a poker school where both men and women can go to learn how to play poker.
In 2006, Clonie was asked by Maxim Magazine to model as part of a special section. The section was very creatively put together by Clonie Gowen’s sponsor, Full Tilt Poker.
