David Grey is originally from New York City’s Long Island. He’s always been a gambler, but he had concentrated on horse racing, and even worked as a horse handicapper. He got his start in poker when he would play games in between the horse races, and he eventually became a very good seven card stud player. In 1984, David headed for Las Vegas, and more of his attention got drawn to poker and away from the horse races. David Grey learned the other poker games in Las Vegas, and began to play in the high stakes poker games around town.
While David Grey is primarily a cash game player, he has had success in tournaments as well. He has won two World Series of Poker bracelets, one coming in the 1999 WSOP in $2500 Seven Card Stud, and the other coming in 2005 at $5,000 No Limit 2 to 7 Draw Lowball. David also finished 8th at the 2003 WSOP Main Event, and was eliminated by the eventual champion Chris Moneymaker. David has also appeared on the Poker Superstars II and the Poker After Dark TV shows. David says that he has enough poker action in Las Vegas so he doesn’t have to travel to poker tournaments. That is why David only plays in tournaments held in Las Vegas.
To date, David Grey has won more than $1.3 million in tournament winnings. He currently lives in Henderson, Nevada.
