How to Play Five Card Draw
- Players must post a predetermined ante (small forced bet in order to see cards).
- The dealer begins by dealing five cards to each player, face down, beginning with the player directly to their left.
- Players pick up their cards and look at them to determine their current hand.
- A round of betting occurs, beginning with the player directly to the left of the dealer.
- Players have the option to exchange anywhere from zero to three cards. A player may also exchange four cards, but must have and keep an ace and show it to the other players.
- After all of the cards have been exchanged as opted by the players, another round of betting occurs, beginning with the player to the left of the dealer again.
- After the round of betting players enter a “showdown” and determine the winner. The player with the best poker hand by rank wins the pot.
