I will have to agree that the sport of poker is a very competitive sport and not a lot of women have the opportunity to learn it because it is a male driven industry. Well for all of you ladies that are afraid to go and learn the game of poker because of the vast majority of men that are playing then we have the perfect idea for you. Its called the Women’s Ultimate Poker Academy and as you can tell by the name it is only available to women so men BACK OFF!!!! The Women’s Ultimate Poker Academy was created this year by Lauren Failla and Lisa Adams and their main purpose was to reach out to women of the world and teach them the game of poker without any male intimidation factor.
When you ladies attend a Women’s Ultimate Poker Academy you will be very impressed by the hands on instruction and the individual attention that is given to everyone that attends one of the academies. You also will not be taught by some female poker player that you have never heard of but instead you will be taught by some of the top female pros in the world of poker. These pros will consist of JJ Liu, Karina Jett, Susie Isaacs and Barbara Enright who has three World Series of Poker Bracelets and a fifth place finish in the 1995 World Series of Poker Main Event which makes her the highest finishing female in the main event to this day.
The first Women’s Ultimate Poker Academy is going to be held at the Harrah’s Casino & Hotel in New Orleans, LA on Saturday December 13, 2008. When there ladies will find that the academy will be offering a free three hour seminar on what they will be in for. Right now it is unknown whether there will be any actual hands on instruction given. The first confirmed date for the Women’s Ultimate Poker Academy that will offer hands on instruction is March 6-7 at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Resort. The cost of the Academy is going to be only $1,300 and that will include everything, from the hands on instruction from the top female pros, all the to an entry into a High Heels Poker Tour tournament that will be taking place at the conclusion of the academy.
