Player Of The Year Race

Recommend this!

poker2It is now getting down to that time of year again when every single tournament you play in matters if you are still in the running for either the 2008 Player Of The Year or the 2008 Online Player Of The Year award. This years race for the two highly contested awards will literally come down to the last remaining tournament. In fact the Online Player Of The Year rankings have been in a scramble for the past month with the players in the one and two spot sharing time at number one.

Right now for the 2008 Player of the Year race it shows John “The Razor” Phan out front with 1,214.1 points and one of the biggest reasons John is out front is because of his results that he posted during the World Series Of Poker when he won two bracelets. It was then shortly after the World Series Of Poker in the middle of August when John Phan took down the title during the WPT Legends Of Poker tournament. However John Phan is not in the clear yet with Bertrand Grospellier biting at his heels especially after Bertrand posted a 12th place finish in one of the preliminary events during the Bellagio Five-Diamond Poker Classic.

Now the 2008 Online Player Of The Year award is literally up for grabs for either of the top two players. Those two players are PearlJammed who is currently sitting in second with 384,225 points. The player who is currently sitting atop the leader board is Moorman1 who is sitting there with 384,486 points. The winner of the 2008 Online Player Of The Year award could literally be decided in just one tournament and my guess is it will happen during the last tournament of the year that is eligible for player of the year points.

Nothing is yet decided but it is looking to be a very exciting race to the end. When the winner is decided we will be one of the first to let you know.
