This week, Absolute Poker announced its release of a Java version of their already popular online poker client. Visitors to Absolute Poker can find this software by searching for “Instant Play” on the website. This announcement has opened up many more avenues of business for Absolute Poker, including an addition to Mac compatible rooms on our website.

Not only is Absolute Poker’s instant play good for Mac poker players, but also Linux and Windows poker players. Linux users are not able to download any poker software yet, so a Java platform is the only viable option. In addition to that, anybody wanting to play poker online at work or school won’t have to download the bulky software onto a company or college computer. This can also be useful for players who are working from remote locations or on vacation, allowing them to participate from wherever they are and whenever they want to. David Clainer, senior vice president of Absolute Poker, made the following statement:

“Travelers, remote players and Mac users are largely under-served in this market and we’ve taken the necessary steps to accommodate them,” said David Clainer, senior vice president for Absolute Poker.
