In the past seasons of the popular television show “High Stakes Poker”, you have seen many all-in’s and some major suck outs and you have even seen a couple of million dollar pots thanks to season fours $500,000 minimum buy-in poker game. Also what the viewers have been able to witness was even though these players are playing for hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money they still have a lot of fun especially when poker pros and best friends Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari are playing with each other. Some of the other famous moments of the past seasons have always in some way involved good ole’ Sammy Farha who is one of the most popular participants of the series due to the style of play that he brings to the table. Well the Game Show Network has finally come out and released the names of the players that will be participating in season five of “High Stakes Poker” and let me tell you the season is going to be filled with some pretty intense action.
The players that first jumped out at you when looking at the list of players was the great ones which included the “Texas Dolly” Doyle Brunson, World Series of Poker bracelet record holder Phil Hellmuthand the ever popular Daniel Negreanu and Phil Ivey. Also a couple of players that are going to be making an appereance were actually just involved in the spectacular World Series of Poker 2008 Main Event and they include runner-up Ivan Demidov and the 2008 Champion Peter Eastgate. It will be real interesting to see how the new WSOP Champion will handle against these experienced and dangerous pros and to also see if Mr. Brunson will teach the young ones a thing or two in the game of poker.
Some other players that have made the list and will be making an appearance on “High Stakes Poker” will be Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine, Mike Baxter, Sammy Farha, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Barry Greenstein, Nick Cassavetes, Howard Lederer, Giorgio Medici, Sam Simon, Bob Safai, Ilari Sahamies. Also do note that a couple of young guns who have become very popular within the online community and have taken their talent from the computer screen to live play are going to be making an appearance as well and they are Dario Minieri and online poker phenom Tom Dwan. As of right now we do not know when each player will make an appearance on the show and for how long they will stay and play.
It was “High Stakes Poker” Executive Producer Mori Eskandani who said it best. “Viewers are in for a thrill”. That is true and I can not wait to see Season Five of “High Stakes Poker”
