Dave Colclough PokerDave Colclough is a Welsh poker player who is considered to be one of the best Omaha players in the world. Dave was born on March 4, 1964 in South Wales and has spent most of his adult life as a computer programmer.

Dave had grown up playing poker, but didn’t truly realize how much he could make doing so until a very successful casino trip he took in 1985.  At that point he started playing poker more frequently, but kept with his career as a computer programmer.

Dave Colclough didn’t become a full-time poker professional until after the 2000 World Series of Poker, where he won an event but gave away his bracelet in a deal, a fact that he still regrets.  Dave almost had to go back to computer programming when he lost most of his money due to an investment he made in a club that went sour.  However, just as he quit on his investment, he hit a poker rush, making several final tables in quick succession, allowing him to find his feet again.

In 2003, Dave Colclough was voted European Poker Player of the Year.  He has made one World Poker Tour final table and reached the semifinals of the World Heads-Up Poker Championship in 2005.  Also in 2005, Dave Coclough was inducted into the European Poker Players Hall of Fame.  At the time he was the youngest ever inductee at the age of 41.

Dave Colclough has a daughter named Sian, a Welsh name, and enjoys the fact that he is able to make his own schedule so he can spend time with her. He is also a big fan of the Liverpool Football Club.  Dave has won more than $2,000,000 in tournament winnings. He currently resides in Birmingham, England, where there is a 6 card Omaha game that he really enjoys.

Dave Colclough has his own website, Blondepoker.com, which has recently started up its own online poker room.  You can find him playing at this site and several others under the screenname ElBlondie.
