He was born on January 29, 1957.  Paul had spent 25 years working in the pharmaceutical industry, but thanks to his success in poker, Paul Maxfield decided that it was time to retire from his company.  Poker was a hobby for Paul Maxfield even before he retired, as he had been playing poker for over a decade, with many victories all across Europe.

Paul Maxfield decided to retire after his second place finish at the 2005 World Poker Tour Championship, where he took home $1,698,390.  He now plays poker regularly, and has been a fierce competitor in every event he has entered.  Paul Maxfield has made several final tables at the World Series of Poker, but has not yet won a bracelet.  Paul Maxfield’s dream is to one day win the WSOP Main Event.

In addition to poker, Paul Maxfield enjoys playing golf.  At one time, it was debatable about which game he was better at, golf or poker. However, his success in poker has settled that debate. His favorite poker game is the Omaha High Pot Limit while his favorite music is jazz.
