David Pham PokerDavid Pham, also know as “The Dragon,” is a professional poker player originally from Vietnam. Born February 10, 1967, David Pham fled to the United States in a small boat when he was 17.  The boat had originally carried 145 people, but only 46 survived the journey.

David Pham is the cousin of poker player Men Nguyen, who is more commonly known as “Men the Master.”  David Pham learned how to play poker from his cousin and has proven that he is to be feared at the poker table.

David Pham won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the 2001 World Series of Poker while playing in the SHOE event, which is a poker game that switches between different poker games, starting at Seven Card Stud, going to Texas Holdem, then Omaha, and Seven Card Stud Eights of Better.  The Dragon won his second WSOP bracelet in 2006 playing No Limit Holdem. David Pham has also made it to 4 World Poker Tour final tables, but has yet to win a WPT event. David Pham was also named CardPlayer Magazine’s poker Tournament Player of the Year in 2002.

Since coming to America, David Pham has had a lot of success, earning nearly $5 million in poker tournament winnings.  David currently lives in Bell Gardens, California.
